23/12/2016

On the occasion of the ITS Euskadi congress, focused on autonomous mobility, Novadays presented last November the results of the various research, development and innovation projects related to autonomous mobility in which the company has been participating since 2008. Throughout these eight years, Novadays has been committed to create and incorporate knowledge to the company in order to advise the public sector and private companies in their adaptation to a disruptive change that will transform both transport -and especially public transport as we understand it today- and many other public policies, such as social services and equality, innovation, industry, etc..

"Autonomous mobility will lead us to guarantee people's right to mobility, and to a near unprecedented city transformation"

Novadays' President, José Ignacio Cases Comyn, presented in ITS Euskadi the company's reflections on the medium and long term effects that autonomous mobility will have on public policies, understanding these as the way to solve public problems.

"The results of the first driverless bus project in Spain demonstrate the high acceptance of this new technology among users."

María Izaguirre Vizcaya, managing partner of Novadays and responsible for transport and mobility policies, presented at ITS Euskadi the results of the first test project of autonomous vehicles for the provision of public transport services carried out in Spain. The service of Donostia - San Sebastian, implemented by Novadays together with its technology partner Tecnalia, has demonstrated the viability of these services, responding to all the legal, technical and economic challenges that existed to be able to operate an urban transport line only with driverless buses.
