The promotion of a Marine Energy and Energy Storage Innovation Hub by the Xunta de Galicia

The Challenge Addressed

The Xunta de Galicia, within the framework of its economic, industrial and innovation policies, aimed at strengthening economic growth and creating quality employment in the region, has identified the creation of the Marine Energy and Energy Storage Innovation Pole (PIEMAE) as a strategic project to achieve these objectives.

The Pole is conceived as a meeting, interaction and integration ecosystem that allows transforming the opportunities derived from the development of marine renewable energies and energy storage into new companies, products, services and jobs in Galicia; bringing together the Capabilities the territory and making it a national and international reference in the sector.

The Pole's Strategic Plan aims to position the Galician industry and innovation ecosystem as an international benchmark in the marine energy and energy storage industry, and to boost development and job creation in the region.

Novadays' Contribution

Novadays' contribution consists of the strategic definition of the Strategic Plan and the Innovation Pole in marine renewable energy and energy storage, as well as related programs and actions, and its articulation around three strategic lines and a total of fifteen actions grouped into six investment programs.

Novadays' support in the development of the Strategic Plan 2024-2026 of PIEMAE, focuses on the definition of the strategic lines of the Pole, the development of programs and actions that make up the Strategic Plan and its timeline, the governance of the Strategic Plan -including the necessary mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation- and finally, the roadmap to follow for the implementation of the Plan.

This strategic plan develops the objectives defined by means of specific actions, describing their technical object, their financial structure and how they can be executed from the legal point of view, citing the instruments available to the Xunta for this purpose. These actions are grouped in Investment Programs, in order to facilitate their management, monitoring and communication.
