Galicia has decided to make a qualitative leap in its commitment to knowledge, science and technology. The new Galician Research and Innovation Plan 2025-2027, endowed with more than 1,310 million euros, is one of the most ambitious strategies promoted by an autonomous community in Spain.
Its objective: to consolidate an R&D&I ecosystem capable of improving people's lives, generating employment, strengthening the productive sectors and integrating innovation throughout the territory.
But what does this plan really imply, and how will it affect the day-to-day running of science, the economy and public services? These are the keys to understanding Galicia's new direction in innovation.
A model aligned with Europe, designed to transform Galicia
The new plan not only relies on its own funds, but also coordinates its action with European and national financing instruments.
In addition, it responds to a participatory and regulated elaboration process, in which more than 200 agents of the Galician innovation ecosystem have participated and in which 299 contributions from experts and entities, including companies, universities, technology centers and administration, have been collected.
Unprecedented investment to make R&D&I a pillar of our country
Science is consolidated as a strategic priority for Galicia. The plan contemplates an investment of 1,310 million euros, which will be distributed in measures aimed at strengthening research, attracting talent, promoting knowledge transfer and bringing innovation to every corner of Galicia.
