Galicia is a land known for many attractions. The food, its landscapes, its cultural richness and the Camino de Santiago. But it is also a benchmark in renewable energies. The region has reached 64.8% of electricity production from renewable sources, double the 32% target set by the European Union for 2030. It also has one of the main offshore wind resources in Europe and is now taking a further step in harnessing its potential with the launch of an experimental offshore wind platform, a strategic and pioneering initiative in Spain. Ten kilometers off the coast, in front of the outer port of A Coruña, is this jewel of innovation. It is a unique test infrastructure that allows technological development, through the testing of floating offshore wind prototypes, and the carrying out of studies related to the marine environment and biodiversity.
