Novadays will accompany the City of Malaga in the design and financing of its new Urban Electricity Distribution Center (CUDE) of goods.

The urban distribution of goods is a public problem for a large number of local authorities. Its emissions into the atmosphere and the occupation of public roads is today incompatible with the visions of a clean, sustainable and friendly city for its citizens.

Over the last decade, the City Council of Malaga has developed a process of modernization of the urban center that is a reference throughout Europe. The historic center has been completely pedestrianized and the area affected by the strategic vision of a pedestrian, clean and sustainable Malaga is becoming larger and larger. An important part of this project has been the creation of the first Urban Electricity Distribution Center (CUDE) for goods, which has been operating successfully in the city for a decade. However, the growth of the pedestrian area forces the City Council to think about an improved model and the construction of a new CUDE capable of meeting the needs of the city for at least a decade.

Novadays consultants will work together with the municipal team in the realization of the feasibility study of the new urban freight distribution center, in collaboration with other European cities that have similar objectives. The feasibility study prioritizes the creation of a high-capacity, digital, robotized and, of course, electrified center. The new logistics center will receive all goods directed to the pedestrian zone of the city, store them, provide value-added logistics services and distribute them with electric vehicles, minimizing the occupation of urban space.

The analysis methodology proposed by Novadays will allow the design of an urban logistics center that not only responds to the technical needs of mobility and transport, but also represents an innovative change in the management model that will make Malaga a pioneer in this type of infrastructure and services. The study provides a global response to the design and process of construction and operation of the center, contemplating all the financial and legal aspects necessary for the execution of the project. The support to Malaga also includes the search for funding for the preliminary studies and the application for European funding for the bidding and construction phase.
