Novadays will carry out the Equality Plan of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers.

08/03/2018

Novadays has been selected by the General Council of Spanish Lawyers, the highest representative body of the legal profession in Spain for the implementation of its Equality Plan.

The Consejo General de la Abogacía Española (General Council of the Spanish Bar) is a professional corporation under public law that brings together the professional associations of lawyers in Spain. Its functions, according to its statutes, include the regulation of professional activity, the defense of the prestige of the profession, demanding that Bar Associations and lawyers comply with their professional and deontological duties, seeking an agile, modern and efficient justice system and preventing labor intrusion.

Novadays continues implementing Equality Plans in all types of public and private organizations, transferring its knowledge of equality policies and gender mainstreaming to society as a whole and thus contributing to greater equality between women and men.

The scope of application of the Plan will be the Council itself, with the aim of serving as a reference for the 83 Bar Associations and also for the law firms that wish to implement it.

Among the objectives of this plan are:

  • Eliminate imbalances in access and participation of women and men in the organization.
  • Consolidation of the principle of equality in the management of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers.
  • Ensure that human resources management processes (selection, professional classification, promotion and training, compensation) respect the principle of gender equality (treatment and opportunities).
  • To favor, in terms of equality between men and women, the reconciliation of work, personal and family life.
  • Prevent sexual harassment and harassment based on sex.
