How does the National Cybersecurity Institute manage more than 150 disruptive technology projects in cybersecurity?

The Challenge Addressed

The challenge of the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) is to develop an investment program in Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) aimed at strengthening the cybersecurity industry in Spain, as well as the security of public administrations, sectors and critical infrastructures.

The objective is none other than to carry out joint R&D programs between INCIBE and industrial driving companies, capable of creating products, solutions and technologies of high strategic impact for the company's position in the market and that respond to the challenges of the public sector, SMEs or NIS2 strategic sectors in the long term.

Specific actions:

  • Action 1: Joint R&D programs with companies in the cybersecurity sector.
  • Action 2: Technological solutions for SMEs, and
  • Action 3: Strategic sectors.

Novadays' Contribution

Novadays, as INCIBE's technical office, has designed the strategy of this Initiative and its main instruments, identifying and characterizing the CPI actions and assisting throughout the process by offering its technical, legal and financial support in the management of the Initiative and the execution of ongoing contracts.

Through Novadays' support, INCIBE channels 270 million euros to the cybersecurity sector, through PPI contracts to acquire innovative products and technologies based on blockchain, AI, 5G, cloud computing, internet of things, among other key technologies.
