The National Police presents its Strategic Initiative for Public Procurement of Innovation that aims to mobilize €189M in innovative investments

The Strategic Initiative of Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) of the National Police brings together a set of investment programs, with multiple actions and projects that integrate the challenges and needs of all areas of the Police.

The Initiative responds to the challenge of the National Police to consolidate itself as a reference body in Europe with the highest scientific and technological Capabilities , allowing it to be equipped with the best technological infrastructures and advanced processes and to offer the best services to citizens with guarantees.

The Initiative will mobilize around €189 million over the next five years, boosting internal operational Capabilities and focusing innovation on obtaining results that are fully applicable in real operating environments.

To date, more than 50 people from different departments of the National Police have contributed to the identification of public needs and 75 projects (integrated into 5 programs and 15 actions) in which to work to address the challenges and problems facing the Corps:

  • Police of the Future: forensic police, unmanned systems, disruptive technologies.
  • Today's police: artificial intelligence and data management; reliable, flexible and secure telecommunications; vehicles and personal equipment; protection of public spaces, biometric solutions, etc.
  • Digital training and new technological infrastructures.
  • International Cooperation.
  • Talent Management.

All of this will serve the National Police in accessing key enabling and disruptive technologies for the future.
