Sevilla TechPark will begin to offer new advanced mobility, energy, and digitization services in 2027 after the Andalusian Regional Government announced that it will invest nearly €20 million in Public Procurement of Innovation, with tenders to be launchedthroughout 2026.

This initiative, known as eCitySevilla, aims to turn the Cartuja technology park into a kind of "smart city" that sets the standard nationally, reinforcing the importance of this space, which leads the way in terms of turnover at the national level. To achieve this, the Public Procurement of Innovation formula has been chosen, which allows administrations to promote technological solutions that do not yet exist on the market and develop them together with companies and research centers.

The first aims to implement shared self-consumption services and distributed energy resources, including a pilot project called 'Building To Grid', which involves converting buildings into active agents in energy management. The second proposes a smart public lighting and access control system for the technology park; the third, a pilot project for autonomous electric transport; and the fourth, a pilot project for mobile robotics for urban cleaning. Fifth, a last-mile logistics system for goods with advanced automation has been defined, while the final intervention focuses on the development of a digital infrastructure, including a data platform and an event, emergency, and security management system with a digital twin.

All these solutions will be tested in a 200-hectare site that functions as a miniature city, with more than 31,000 workers and a significant economic impact. The project is part of a broader strategy by the regional government, which is already promoting more than 80 similar public innovation initiatives in Andalusia in areas such as health, energy, and the environment.
