Zaragoza presents the first relevant environment for R&D&I in urban transport

16/03/2023

The incorporation of cutting-edge technology in public services such as mobility is becoming increasingly common. Having a test laboratory to implement different innovative mobility solutions is a necessary step for companies, public research organizations and technology centers to validate their technologies.

This Thursday the Zaragoza Relevant Environment was presented as the spearhead of the DIGIZITY project, in which we participate as a technical office.

This circuit, which runs on line 40 of the urban bus service - operated by Grupo Avanza - will allow the testing and integration of all the systems developed, testing more than 50 products, systems and subsystems, aimed at achieving cleaner, more efficient, safer and more comfortable public transportation.

In addition to the presentation of the environment, a tour was offered in this pioneering bus manufactured by Irizar to explain all the on-board technology, the 5G real-time communication and to test the automated driving and driver assistance systems.

The vehicle will be tested in this technological validation phase until September, when it will be incorporated as normal on line 40 and will be able to transport passengers.
