In a "historic" day, the Fuerteventura Technology Park demonstrates that manned and unmanned means can coexist to optimize emergency care. The simulation of the European project U-Welcome has been a success and is the last one to be carried out in the framework of the project, in which France and Italy have also been involved, and which will end with its staging before the end of the year in Brussels. Telespazio's Director of Innovation Programs, Javier Pancorbo, is confident that it can be implemented in Fuerteventura by mid 2026 and that the drones can be used to improve the alert to emergency services and the transport of medicines and medical supplies.

Emergency detection, protocol activation, drone transporting medicine, helicopter action and the saving of a life

The Fuerteventura Technology Park lived this Friday a historic day to host the final simulation of the European project U-Elcome; an initiative that after three years of work has found in the Estratopuerto its closing scenario.

The trial demonstrated how coordination between manned and unmanned aircraft can make the difference in critical situations, from a fire to a health emergency requiring evacuation, highlighting the use of U-Space technology, oriented to the automated management of drones in airspace, in emergency situations and transport of medical material.
